Welcome to Dream Vacations, a lifestyle column on travelling to amazing destinations with practical advice and my revelations about locales from years of personal experience. Being on vacation in one of the most beautiful places on earth offers an excellent opportunity to pamper yourself and family. You may not be able to afford multiple tours every trip, but here are the top tours you should consider.
They set themselves apart, either as a ‘must-do’ experience in Maui or because the tour itself is an industry winning tour and sets itself apart from other similar tours. Full disclosure, I am not a representative of these companies, do not receive any fees from them or can guarantee your positive experience with them.
Molokini Crater and Turtle Snorkeling Tour
Being a tourist often means not knowing what the locals know and results in potentially over-paying for a tour or taking a tour that is not as highly-regarded as other similar tours.
PacWhale Eco-Adventures owned by the Pacific Whale Foundation is a tour operator of the first class. Its many tours are award-winning and top the lists of many bloggers and rating platforms such as TripAdvisor, Viator and the Crazy Tourist. Their Molokini Crater and Turtle Snorkeling tour is simply one of the best water experiences you can have in Hawaii and its reasonable price will shock you compared to other operators. Be sure to book early before all the tours for your dates are gone!
Dive, Dive, Dive!
Not a certified scuba diver? No problem, the Atlantis Adventures Submarine adventure offers you a view of coral reefs, sharks, and underwater wrecks you’d never otherwise get to see. This is truly an experience that you will never forget and people will always want to hear about. The small submarine fits 48 passengers, all with their own bubble viewing port for great views above and below. Not the least expensive of the tour adventures, it will be a memory you and your little ones will not soon forget.
Get Off the Beaten Path
Not sure you want to do the ‘typical’ tourist thing? A hiking adventure in the lush tropical rainforests of Maui, Hawaii is your best bet at avoiding crowds. The Hike Maui’s East Maui Waterfalls and Rainforest Hike is a spectacular adventure. Make sure your party is up for a 5-6 hour hiking adventure before booking. Although all that time is not spent hiking, it is a workout. This tour visits several waterfalls where your party gets to swim and frolic in and around waterfalls, as well as a north shore beach visit where you may see sea turtles.
Another of the lesser expensive tours, it provides a unique view to the inside of a tropical rainforest of a Hawaiian island, which many visitors never venture to see.
Although these are just three of our best tour experiences in Maui, we have done many more. I’ll be sure to share more of these tours with you in an upcoming blog, as surely a Tour for the Road to Hana, a Lahaina Segway tour or Haleakala Sunrise tour need to be on your bucket list in Maui.
